Do You Make This Common Marketing Mistake?

Take a look at your small business’ marketing materials.

Who are they speaking to? Do you use the word “we” or “us” or “our” over and over again? If you do, you are missing the mark.

One of the first rules of writing is to put yourself in your audiences’ shoes. In marketing, that means making sure you are answering their questions, addressing their concerns and focusing on their business.

The focus should not be on your business, but theirs. Use powerful verbs and adjectives to describe how you will make their life easier, how to solve their problems.

Remember, it’s not about you, it’s about them.
